This CD included a nice selection of rarities (some were never released before) by Jarre (some tracks are interesting, experimental, Synthpop and Rock n' Roll).

The version of "Pop Corn" from 1972 was recorded by Jarre under the stage name "Pop Corn Orchestra". The instrumental isn't danceable as the version by Hot Butter from the same year, but it's still catchy and fantastic.

The track "Black Bird" is a soft remake of the compsition "Bridge Of Promises" from the album "Deserted Palace". The melody is relaxing and the organ sound is enjoyable.

These are two non-sense songs that were collaborations with artist Samuel Hobo: Freedom Day/Synthetic Man (both from 1972). The tune is cheerful and the lyrics are senseless (these are not very fantastic tracks).

In the same year, Jarre collaborated with the band Triangle to record "Récreation" e "Le Matin Du Premier Jour". "Récreation" is a lively piano song with some wordless vocal effects and "Le Matin Du Premier Jour" is a soft composition. Electronic Music effects and vocals by the band can be heard on the recording.

Another upbeat tune: "Zig-Zag Dance" with vocals by Samuel Hobo was released in 1973 (under the stage name "Foggy Joe"). The song is fantastic, but the versions by Jo Sherman, Electric Choo Choo Band, The Superfly and Tony Lopez are also catchy.

The instrumental "Cartolina" is lively and "Helza" is relaxing and included an enjoyable organ sound that fits with the song.

"Hypnose" is a soft tune, that accompained Webb's speech.

"La Belle Et La Bête" included incredible synthesizers and sound effects and "La Morte Du Cygne" is a smooth song (both sung by Gerard Lenorman in 1975).

In 1974, the Rock band Blue Vamp recorded the tune "Jolly Dolly" (very melodic composition with nice guitar sound).

The Chanson "Lady" by Bill & Buster is also fantastic.

The track "Des Garçons Et Des Filles" is not so enjoyable, but it's interesting. The audio was from the film from 1967 of the same name. At the time Jarre had a Rock band called "The Dustbins" and they were a regional success.

The CD "Essentials & Rarities" also contains rarities as "Happiness Is A Sad Song" and others that this CD didn't included.
